Portraits

Photographs have a way of entering into your memory more than the memory itself. And the portraits I have shot over the years of those around me are no exception. But the photographs are a way to hang on to a shred of the soul that slipped into your life, it's a little piece of an undefinable person to spirit away and stash in a box under the bed and guard jealously. Taken out and looked at on occasions when no one is watching in an effort to exact the same emotion that was there when the photograph was taken. And it works very well, it's just the feeling changes as the ageless photograph ages. So following are some photographs I have taken over the years, portraits of personas alive before me. Portraits of people who I have been able to keep a little portion of their soul, but not without leaving some of mine behind...
